Cle Elum’s Upper County 12U Babe Ruth Softball team beat out Hoquiam girls in a close game that could have gone either way, according to their coach, Kevin Kelly. After a well played championship game the girls head to the National tournament in Alchua, FL on August 1st to compete in a a game, and experience they will likely remember for a lifetime. Kelly said he will meet with parents to discuss ways to fundraise for the trip, so if you’d like to help contribute, keep your eyes and ears open this weekend. This same group of gals also won the 10U tournament last year, but there are only National tournaments for 12U and 16U teams. The Suncadia Resort started 2013 hot with a spike in real estate sales. Suncadia Real Estate Sales Company reached more than $27 million in the first half of 2013, and sales are predicted to continue rising throughout the remainder of the year, and 2nd homes in the PNW continue to rise according to the Wall Street Journal.
The growth came after an impressive 2012, when Suncadia had more than $42 million in sales, the resort’s best year since 2008. The resort has sold mroe than 1,300 homes and condos since properties went on the market in 2003, and the sales success of 2012 almost doubled that of 2011 sales.
